Even if you want to start a home business, hiring out nannies you will only need a small office space. In your home office, you will want to have a computer desk, bookshelves, and a file cabinet. This is so you can keep track of your records from the family for being a nanny. If you want to hire out nannies, you will need to make room for a few chairs and a table or two, so you can meet with potential clients.
Time requirements:
If you are going to be a full time nanny this means you is going to be spending ten plus hours a day working. This is going to include commuting to and from the family's home, watching the children, and attending to their daily needs. In some cases, it can also include going on vacation with the family. If you are going to be a part time nanny you are going to spend at least half of the day working because you will need t tend to the children and ensure everything is cleaned up before you go. How much time you spend working is going to depend on the family you are working for and the type of nanny you are.

- You are going to need to love children. If you do not like children, being a nanny is not a good job for you because you will be spending time with kids all day and most every day. Getting along with kids and entertaining them is the most important part of being a nanny.
- You have to have a charming and friendly personality. Another big part of being a nanny is having the kids like you. If the kids do not like you or they do not have fun when they are with you, chances are you will not be a nanny for long. You have to get along well with children, which mean being fun and friendly. Being charming is more for the parents because if they do not feel comfortable with you, they are not going to have you take care of their children.
- Flexibility is often required when you are a nanny. When being a nanny your days are not going to just go smoothly, you are going to need to expect the unexpected when you are a nanny. This can mean you will have to work longer hours because mom and dad have to work late or you might need to work weekends. Being flexible means, you are willing to work with the family to meet their needs.

- Injuries are going to be the biggest risk that you face when being a nanny. You are going to be in charge of the safety and well being of the children that you are being a nanny for. Children are going to get hurt, but you have to make sure that you take the proper precautions to ensure that they are not seriously injured.
