The majority of your work as an entertainer is going to be done on location. However, you are still going to need a room in your house that is designated to you becoming an entertainer. In this room, you are going to need to have enough room for storing your materials, such as costumes or props that you will be using. You are also going to need to have room for you to practice your routine, how much room you need is going to depend on what kind of entertaining you are doing.
Time requirements:
To be an entertainer from home you are going to need to put in a lot of hours. The reason for this is that you are going to have to wait in lines at auditions, but you are also going to need to go through the audition, which can take minutes. You will also need to practice your routine on a daily basis, so you will need to set aside time for that. Despite all of this work, the pay that you receive for entertaining people can seem small because of how long and hard you are working.
Income potential:
2 - Becoming an entertainer is going to be hard work and it is not always very rewarding. There are going to be many times that you are rejected for what you are auditioning for, which means you are not going to earn any money. However, there are times that you are going to land a great paying gig. When it comes to entertaining people the income is going to be up and down until you land a full-time spot.
Keys to success:
- Make sure that you have developed your talent. In entertaining, there are numerous things that you can do to become an entertainer; you need to focus on one way of entertaining and practice that act on family. You are also going to need to get further education because talent alone isn't always enough.
- You need to enjoy the fan base that you have and are able to get. The reason for this is that not all entertainers are going to get a huge fan base, nor will all of them become a hit nationwide. If you just accept the fan base that you have you will be even more successful at how you are entertaining because you will be doing it for the joys of entertaining, not for growing your fan base.
- Make sure that you have a place in mind of where you can perform. Most people who become entertainers have a place in mind that they want to use to entertain people. For example, a musician might set up in a mall or on a sidewalk t entertain people as they walk by.
Risks:
- The biggest risk that you are going to face in trying to become an entertainer is rejection. You are going to end up applying at many places and you are going to get many rejection phone calls, which you are going to have to learn to take in stride.
- Another risk that you are going to face is not having anywhere to perform. This is similar to being rejected, but instead of hearing the words no you are not what somebody is looking for, you are going to be told that there are no openings for what you are trying to do or something similar.
