Now that you've created your home business and are ready for everyone to see your dream, how do promote yourself? There are various ways in getting the word out about your small home business.

These kinds of groups are a very effective way to market your business, and meet new contacts with very little money. One example is your local commerce group. They often play a large role in establishing fairs and boutiques, which can also be a great way to get the word out about your new home business.

In this day and age you can virtually reach anyone by sending out emails and a fun and new way to let other know about your new business is creating a business blog. Commit yourself to sending out a certain number of emails each week, or sending your blog out to certain groups or individuals. Along with sending emails out, you can also look into creating your own website, or post ads on other classified websites. Some will charge a fee, and others may let you do this for free. Or you can arrange a link from their web page up to your own webpage. Creating a Pod cast can also be a useful tool in promoting your business. However, they can be a little tricky to set up, so be sure and do your homework so that it turns out the way you want it to. Your options with using the internet as a tool in getting the word out about your small home business are almost limitless.
Post cards, Flyers, & Newsletters
A great way to get the word out about your new home business is sending out postcards, flyers or newsletters. Everyone checks their mail, and likelihood of finding someone who may be interested in your new service is higher than not. Send out a quick postcard to catch a future customer's attention, or write an informative newsletter explaining in detail what it is your new company will offer. Outline your strengths, and include accomplishments, and or degrees that pertain to your new home business. Especially in smaller towns, these can prove to be a great way to promote your business.
Phone Calls
Using the phone has proven extremely effective in getting the word out about your new home business. Not only does it provide a voice to the company name, but it allows you to get to know your neighbors as potential customers. Be sure to make your calls at appropriate times; you don't want to drive potential customers away because you chose to make your calls during dinner time, or too late at night.
Business Cards
Most, if not all businesses have their own business cards to give to potential customers. How many of you have thought about doing something, wished that you had written down a number for a certain business, and remembered that they gave you a business card. All it needs to have on it, is your business name, your name, phone number (cell & office), and maybe a fax number. This is all a potential customer needs to contact you in case they need your services; A great idea for any business, small or large, new or old. Business cards can bring in a lot of potential business.
