Mail order

One of the fastest-growing industries is mail order. The thing that makes mail order unique is that it is not a new industry; it has been around for years. There are just more companies offering mail order services with better products. In fact, the internet does over $2.4 billion annually in mail order dollars. This is a pretty big number and its about time you cash in on it. Mail order consists of marketing products to consumers and then mailing them the product once they order it.
Around 131 million Americans purchase something through the phone or through the mail. In order to reach the people that actually purchase products, you must establish an account with a company that sells direct marketing materials. You will need to order a certain number of brochures and flyers and send them off to clients. Once the client gets the brochures, they will order a product using the web site listed, which happens to give you a certain percentage of the purchase. The only things you will need are some stamps, a car to mail the letters, and time while you wait for people to purchase products.

Depending upon the company you work for, you may need to address each one of the flyers that you mail out to customers. You will be given a list of people to mail the flyers to and it is your job to get them address, stamped and mailed. Having a room in your home where you can keep your mail order business separate from your regular life will really help.
It does take a lot of time to get your mail order business started. More often than not you will spend 8 hours just addressing and mailing the flyers to go in the mail, but this may not be a typical workday. Some people only work 8 hours a week. The more flyers you get out there, the more mail orders you will get and the more money you will get in return. Some mail order companies will actually ship you the products and it is your job to take care of the fulfillment of the orders, this will increase the amount of time you will work.
Depending upon the company you work with and the products you select, you can make $10,000 in a month. Then again, you could barely break-even if you don't work hard and if you aren't able to get your business up and running properly. Ranking the success of a mail order business puts it at a 2.5 on a scale of 1-5. The more you invest in the business, the higher your chances are of getting some returns. There is a big gamble though, especially if you are marketing a product that no one wants.
With any business, hard work and dedication will pay off in the end. Try working for 3-4 different mail order companies and stick with the one that is making the most money for you. Having options will really help you when you are wondering what type of new products you should start marketing. Purchase some good mailing lists and send your brochures there. Normally a company will send you a generated list and you will affix all the labels. If you purchase a mailing list, you can use it over and over until hopefully one of your contacts buys the product.
There isn't a lot that goes into a mail order business. If you plan to build your business, you will need to look into insurance plans and other things that can help you expand. When it's just you, you just need to have time and patience to wait for your small business to start growing.
