MLM and home business are not the same. There are similarities, but differences too. An MLM is a multi-level marketing business. The MLM can be done at home, or in an office, or on the road. A home business is based out of the home and does not have to be a MLM. There are many home businesses that sell products they make or have a trade they can do out of their home.

An MLM is a multi-level marketing business. These MLM businesses are started in the home a lot of the time. There are many who earn good money working from their home in an MLM business. There are also many MLM business owners who go into an office and work out of there to promote their business. Then there are some MLM businesses that go out on the road so to speak and take what the MLM has to offer to other homes and businesses.

A home business is just that, a business ran out of the home, or an office next to the home. There is usually not a big showroom and inventory is minimal. A home business can be an MLM, but does not have to be. There are home businesses that offer services from their home, like garage door sales and installation. There are some home businesses that sell products primarily on the Internet and it's all done from the home.

An MLM is a structured driven business. This means you need to have a team below you in the structure. You will also have many people above you that will be subject to you and what you do with your MLM business. You will not necessarily be working with these people. You may see them once in a while, but most likely not. The people below and above you in an MLM business are those that have signed up after or before you.

With a home business, you will know those you work with. You will have to have a personal relationship with clients, buyers, and employees. If you need them for your home business you will need to know them.

A home business will require only a handful of people to run the business. But an MLM needs many people to make it work and progress as a business. So one reason a home business and an MLM are different is that with an MLM, you are largely dependant on others for your business income. A home business is primarily dependent on you to make it succeed.

A home business can be anything a person can imagine. A home business can range from web design to hair clips. These products or services are promoted and sold by you, the owner. You get the profits of your home business with no one over you. With an MLM you the individual buy into a product that is sold as a unit with the business. The more you sell and promote the better your business. You get some profit but those above you get some of your profit too.

An MLM business and a home businesses are the same in the fact that you have to market and sell what your business has to offer. You will need to market and promote any product or service whether you have an MLM or another home business.

Are MLM and home business the same? There are too many differences for an MLM and a home business to be the same. Both can be done from home. They both require marketing and selling. But the differences are more evident. A MLM requires many people in the structure to succeed as a business. A home business may have a few employees needed to help it run smoothly. An MLM has a product sold as the business. Where a home business can be anything, a service or products.
