Space requirements:
Piano lessons are considered lessons given on a large instrument; you are not going to be able to move the piano into another room when you are giving lessons. The reason that you are going to be the one who determines how much time is going to be required is that you are going to be the one in charge of scheduling your lessons, which will all be private lessons. It is up to you to schedule one or two lessons a day or more if you think you can handle it. Most lessons will need to be in the afternoon or evening and on weekends because of prior commitments, such as school and work.

If you have not mastered playing, the piano there is no way that you can teach the more advanced students, so your business will not be as successful. You need to be a master piano player so that you can teach all levels of piano playing, and teach all different styles of music.

• Your biggest risk when giving piano lessons is your students not showing up and not paying for the lessons. This happens quite a bit because students think that if they do not go to a lesson they shouldn't have to pay for it. This can affect your business because you have set aside this time for the student, so you are losing money when you could have been making money. To prevent this you need to include in your contract what happens if a lesson is missed and the payment agreement.
