Are you getting your small business up and running? There are a couple of things that you will need to do in regards to getting your small business administration set up. Here are a couple of things which can help you to set up your small business administration:

  1. Determine the needs within the company: What do you want to accomplish in your company? What types of people do you need to hire in order to accomplish those goals? Do you have talented people who can multi-task and fill more role than one? (For a list of administration roles, see below).
  2. How heavy is the work load? If you have a pretty heavy workload for the start up of your business, you will want to have as many administrative positions that you can afford. This way, each person will be able to stick to their specific jobs and assignment, to make sure that the work gets done. However, if you don't have quite so heavy a work load within your small business company, then you might be able to have some administrative positions multi-task for a while and perform various jobs.
  3. Can you offer a competitive pay or benefits? In deciding what administrative positions will assume each different type of task, you also need to consider your finances. Will you be able to offer a competitive wage so that you can hire competent, qualified individuals? Will their salary match the work load and responsibilities for the administrative position? Although it sometimes is hard to offer a very competitive salary with a small business, particularly one that is just starting up, try to make your compensation and wages be as fair as possible. If you can't offer monetary compensation, you could offer other types of benefits instead (e.g. free company product, discounts, insurance, etc.). Competitive wages and benefits are usually large draws for qualified people to become interested in working for your business!
  4. Typical administrative positions: A lot of people don't even know what types of administrative positions to have within their own company! Here are a couple of administrative positions which are helpful to have in a small business:
