There are a lot of different things that you need to keep in mind when you are starting your own small home business. One thing that is important to keep in mind is your small home business financial planning. You might not have as much overhead as you would if you had a business that was ran out of a building you would have to pay rent for, but you will still have certain costs. Depending on what type of small home business you are running will also depend on how much financial planning you will need. Because of this you will need to make sure that you have small home business financial planning. Here are some examples of some things that you will need to include in your small home business financial planning.

The first example is communication expenses. Depending on what type of small home business you have will depend on how you communicate with your customers. It is becoming more and more popular that you use the internet and either a cell phone or a land line along with a fax machine. If you do plan on having all of these you will need to take these expenses into consideration when you are doing your financial planning. You will want to make sure that you include at least your internet and your telephone line which you will need to pay for on a monthly basis.

The second example is the initial start up costs that you will have. Such as if you have to buy a new computer or a printer or fax machine. You will also want to include office supplies and computer programs that you may need to purchase to get your business up and going.

The third example is materials that you might need. For example if you were starting a decorative vinyl business you would want to include both the initial cost of what vinyl you will need to get you started. You will also want to make sure that you include a monthly budget for things that you will need to continue buying for example more vinyl.

The fourth example is taxes. Most businesses need to pay some type of taxes quarterly, or yearly. Because of this you will need to make sure that you keep enough money to pay these and also you might need to save enough money to pay an accountant or CPA to do your taxes for your small business. There may also be other expenses as far as taxes and fees that you may have to pay yearly such as renewing your business license and other licenses. Because of this you will need to make sure that you save some money for these things.

The fifth example is marketing costs. Unless you already have a cliental built up you will probably have to do some marketing. Because of this you will want to make sure that you include this in your financial planning. You will want to have some type of budget so that you will not spend too much on marketing.

These are just some of the examples of some of the things that you can use for you small home business financial planning. Again it will depend on what type of small home business you are starting and what type of over head you are going to have. But you will want to make sure that you sit down and go through all of the different expenses that your small business can occur and then start making your financial plan this is how you will get the best idea on laying out your small home business financial planning.
