More and more women today have decided to try and stay home with their families and work from home. Many have been successful in their attempts while others have not. Working from home has become the ideal way to have an income while still spending time with the family. If you've been contemplating a change, here are some tips for women who want to work from home.

Ok, so let's not chalk this working at home up to being "all that and a bag of chips." Realistically speaking, it's going to take a lot of hard work, and probably more time (in the beginning) than your regular 9-5 job takes. Will it be worth it though? You will have to be the judge of that.

Tip #1: Be flexible
Working at home is going to be very different than going into the office. While you might try to eliminate as many distractions as possible, there are always going to be times when it takes you longer to do something because your baby won't stop crying, or someone has to be taken to the doctor's office. Flexibility is just one key to working at home. You cannot expect things to go perfectly every day. Family needs will have to be met, and so will work needs. You can still have a structured schedule while being flexible and open to changing things up if need be.

Tip #2: Prioritize
People prioritize things differently so what you've seen others day may not necessarily work for you. "To do" lists can come in very handy when you have your own home business. It gets difficult to juggle so many things all at one time, so jotting things down when you think of them can help you stay on track and remember where you left off. But an unorganized list is useless, so before you begin each work day, or at the end of each work day sit down and organize your priorities. Put the things that have to be done at the top, and the ones that you'd like to get done at the bottom.

Tip #3: Take time out
Working at home can be grueling sometimes with long never ending hours, so don't forget to take some time out for you and for the family. Just because you're starting a home business doesn't mean you have to kill yourself doing it. Plan ahead and take breaks throughout your day so that you can spend some time with your kids. After all, isn't that why you wanted to work from home? Set a timer if you have to for a certain amount of time for you to work. When it goes off give something else or someone else some attention.

Tip #4: Love the chaos and remember to have fun
Don't expect that working from home is going to be all joy and bliss. There will, without a doubt be chaos; probably every day. You have to learn to live with it and work through it or you won't get anything done. And of course in amidst the chaos don't forget to have a little fun.

Hopefully these simple tips for women who want to work from home will help you get your dream job started.
