Working from home, the ups the downs, the in between

When it comes to working from home many people dream about doing it because of the freedom that it will give them. When they picture working at home they tend to picture the fact that they will no longer have a boss to report to and they will no longer have to work set hours. For many people no longer having to report to a boss is a great perk because it means that they are going to be the ones in charge and that also means they will be the ones who determine what hours they will work. But also not having a boss means that they will no longer have to do things just because the boss has told them to do it, in other words they will no longer have to do busy work.

If you have dreamed about working from home this is probably one of the biggest upsides to working at home, not to mention the fact that you can also go to work in your pajamas if you want to. But just because everything that you have thought of about working from home sounds positive that doesn't mean it is all going to be on the upside. In fact there are also plenty of downsides that you are going to have to face when working from home, not to mention the in betweens as well.
When it comes to working from home sure you are no longer going to have a boss, but now everything is going to fall on your shoulders. What this means is that all of the unpleasant tasks that you had to do at work because your boss told you to is now going to be up to you because there is nobody else to do them, at least in the beginning. But you are also going to realize that you are going to need to work longer hours just to get everything done. Before you worked at home you never realized just how much work needed to get done and how long it takes one single person to do that work.
In addition to those long hours you are also going to have days where nothing gets done. The reason for this might be due to the fact that you are experiencing no sales, which can be due to the fact that your marketing tactics are not working. It is going to be up to you to determine what is going wrong and what you are going to need to do in order to fix it. But you also have to keep in mind that your business might be failing; this is going to be a big concern if you have more days of no sales than more days of sales. For many home business owners the hardest thing to deal with is a failing business because of the fact that nobody wants to admit that they have failed so they tend to shut their eyes to the signs that the business is failing.
But if you make it past the first year and your business begins to expand you are going to face the huge problem of trying to staff your home business. This can be a huge downfall to your home business because of the fact that nobody cares about your business like you do. This makes it really hard to staff your home business because you are going to want to hire people that feel the same way about your business that you do so that your customers are treated the way that you would treat them.
But keep in mind when it comes to running a home business the first year is going to be filled with more ups and downs then the other years because of the fact that you are just getting started. This doesn't mean that the other years won't have their ups and downs too because they will, it's just that they won't seem as bad because you have already dealt with a lot.
