Space requirements:
When it comes to writing in your home, you are not going to need that much room because you can write in whatever room your feel comfortable at; you can even go sit in the backyard and write. However, when it comes to writing you are going to want to make sure that you can write in an area that is free from distractions, this will allow you to concentrate on what you are doing. You are going to need to have at least a small home office where you can work, even if you write in the backyard. The reason for this is after spending day writing on notebook paper you will want to enter everything into the computer. On the other hand, you can use the small office and computer to write in during the day or even invest in a laptop.
Time requirements:
Becoming a writer from home is going to be very time consuming. The reason for this is that you are going to have to write for hours on end to get anything accomplished. However, you need to keep in mind that you are not always going to like what you have written, so you will end up starting over, which will happen on more than one occasion. To become a writer from home you are going to have to set aside a certain amount of hours each day that you are going to work, the longer you write the more you can accomplish.
Income potential:
1 ½ - Writing from home is not going to be your best choice for making money because you are going to spend far a lot of time working and you might not always get paid for it. In fact, for the first couple of years you are probably not going to receive any compensation for your work because you will not have been published yet. It is not until after you are published that you will start to make money as a writer.
Keys to success:
- You need all of the practice that you can get, so you will want to write as often as you can. The more you practice writing the better you will become at it, but you have to make sure that you have the time to practice. Many people say they want to write, but do not take the time each day to actually write.
- •You need to read everything that you can get your hands on, especially if you want to write in a certain genre. You need to read that genre to find out what is already in the marketplace, so that you can come up with something different, so that you can make your own statement.
Risks:
- The biggest risk that you face in becoming a writer from home is not being published. You can always write what you want on a blog or some other aspect of the internet, but you will not be paid for your writing unless a magazine or something similar is publishing you.
