Save up to 50% on your water bill and your water heating bill by installing low-flow shower heads.

Low flow shower heads reduce your water consumption by 50% because of the way they are designed. Basically they are designed to deliver fewer gallons of water in every minute, but maintain the same amount of pressure as your traditional shower head.

If you have a family of four, you probably have close to 1350 showers a year in your home. If these are ten minute showers, a typical shower head uses 4 gallons of water per minute. This means your family is using 54,000 gallons of water a year just in the shower. The average cost of water in the nation is $6/1000 gallons. So, in other words, your shower is costing you $324 a year. With a low-flow shower head, you can cut the consumption in half, and thus the cost in half. This means that you could effectively save $162 a year in water, not to mention the cost to heat that water is also saved, meaning you probably save close to $200 a year to be added to your cash reserve.

So, what does a low-flow shower head cost? In most cases you can get them for free, or for a really low cost. You can go to www.inlndpower.com to order your low-flow shower heads for free. It is limited to two per household, and you have to have an electric water heater to qualify, but even if you have to buy your shower heads yourself, chances are they are not going to cost you $200, and they can be installed easily on your own.

Now, these savings are average savings. If your showers are longer than the average, or if you have more people living in your house, or if you take more than one shower a day, then chances are your savings will be higher than what is mentioned.

The monthly savings in your water bill, heating bill, etc. will be immediate, and it will allow you to free up this money. Your quality of life will not be affected in any way, the only difference will be in how much money the shower costs, and thus how much you have left to save for your cash reserve.

In addition to new shower heads you can cut costs even more by reducing the time you shower by a few minutes, or by limiting yourself to one shower a day. If you work out, shower at the gym, or the recreation center so that they can pay for the shower, not you.
