Book one: The Richest Man in Babylon.

This is a great book that is set in the time of the Wealthy nation of Babylon. It is the sage advice given from the richest man in Babylon about how to acquire wealth, protect it, and enjoy it. The principles are taught in basic scenarios from the time of Babylon, such as buy sheep, etc. However, the underlying ideas, and the advice is infallible, and as valuable today as when it was written years ago. Good financial advice does not change with the economy.

This book is a quick read, most people can read it in a matter of hours. It has a nice entertainment value to it, so you do not feel like you are reading dry numbers advice, or complicated and confusing information about inflation, investment strategies etc. It is the bare bones basics of wise money management, and if followed you will find some great results.

The following are just a few of the basic principles of Richest Man in Babylon, there are 7 main principles that it teaches, these are three:

1. Pay yourself first. He teaches that if you keep some of your money for yourself, you will be able to obtain wealth, but if it is always obligated out, you will never become wealthy.
2. Control your spending. You have to use some discipline in your life if you are going to ever obtain wealth, spending without regard to the future of your family is unwise and leads to poverty.
3. Make your money work for you by investing it with people who know what they are doing. He teaches that having the jeweler invest in sheep is unwise, instead use the jewelers advice to invest in jewels.

This is a book that talks about how to get the money mindset that will help you obtain wealth. It addresses many of the obstacles to wealth that average people face, and how if you have the mind of a millionaire, and think wealth, that you will obtain it.
