One great way to save money on schooling is to reduce your housing cost. Many people pay for more than they need to in housing during the years they are in school, so even if they earn enough for tuition during their time off of school, they may owe a great deal in student loans, etc. because of the cost to live near their school of choice.
Another area you can save money on is tuition. It is true that the school sets the price for tuition and it is unavoidable to pay the full amount in one way or another (either with cash, loans, grants, scholarships, etc.) you can find ways to get more bang for your buck, or in other words, make your tuition money go further.
When determining where you will go to school, whether or not you will work while in school, what classes to take each semester, how to acquire your books and needed materials, etc., think in terms of savings. What options will save you the most money, and still provide you with a quality education? The goal of saving money on college is not to get an inferior education, rather to get the best education possible for the least amount of money.
The more you save on school, the less you have to pay back later, and the more money you free up to save and put in your cash reserve. This means a little sacrifice will go a long way.
