Is it worth wearing someone else's wedding gown to save money? The fact is, a used wedding dress is practically new. Wearing second hand can help you save money, and most of the time, you will never know the difference, and none of your guests will if you don't tell them. Your wedding can be just as beautiful and spectacular, and cost a fraction of what you expected. This is a great way to save money and still get the wedding you want, so consider getting a gently used dress cleaned, a divorcee's wedding ring resized and engraved with your saying or date, and then enjoy the cost savings.

So, the question is not whether or not it is a good way to save money on a wedding, but whether or not it is a way you are willing to save money on your wedding. Using second hand is always going to be cheaper than new, but do you want second hand at your wedding in order to save?
