If you have ever bought groceries then you are probably already aware of the fact that buying groceries adds up rather quickly. It seems that we spend more on groceries then we do on other things in life, in fact groceries are actually the second largest expense that we buy each month. Many of us know that clipping coupons will actually save us money when it comes to our groceries, but what some of us don't know is that there are other things you can do to actually save money on your groceries without having to clip coupons.

Here are some things that you can do to save money without being a coupon clipper.

Number one:
The first thing that you can do to help yourself save some money is to actually buy store brand products instead of name brand products. One thing that you might notice if you have ever looked at the prices of certain products is that store brand products are always cheaper than name brand products and most of the time you can't even tell a difference in how they taste. In fact the next time you are at the grocery store you should check the ingredients in both brands of products to see if they have the same things, many times they do.

Number two:
Something else that you need to do is to buy your groceries in bulk whenever you can. Basically what this means is that when it makes sense buy your groceries in bulk, of course you can't always buy in bulk because the food will go bad before you eat it. But if it is something that won't go bad before you can finish it then buying in bulk will save you money.

Number three:
Another thing that you can do is to look for bargain items that you can actually freeze or buying items in bulk that you can freeze. For example if apples are on sale for a great price you can buy them in bulk and freeze what you are not going to use, shredding block cheese and then freezing it is something else that you can do, and not to mention buying meat in bulk and then freezing it will help you to save money and cut back on how often you need to go to the grocery store.

Number four:
You should also never go to the grocery store without a list and you should never go to the store when you are hungry. All too often people who shop without a list find themselves buying more than what they came to the store for because they have forgotten what it was they actually needed, people tend to impulse buy when they don't have a list. And of course if you shop while you are hungry there are even more impulse buys because you are just buying things that look good to you because of how hungry you are.

Number five:

If you have a baby something that you can do to help save money is to make your own baby food. Buying jarred baby food is a lot more expensive than buying fresh veggies and then putting them into a blender and then freezing the food in ice cube trays. You get a larger portion for what you would spend on baby food if you buy fresh and then freeze what you have made.

Number six:
One of the most important things that you can do to help save money is to not buy prepared foods; basically you want to avoid any foods that come out of a box. Buying prepared foods is actually really expensive because all of the stuff is mixed together in one box. But not only are the boxed foods more money they are also less nutritious so you are throwing money down the drain on unhealthy food.
