When you should use a credit card
In today's world it seems that everybody has at least one credit card. But the problem with so many people having credit cards is that more and more people are getting into financial trouble because they don't use their credit cards responsibly.
Here are some tips about when you should use a credit card.
Tip one:
If you are going to use a credit card to make any kind of purchase you should make sure that you can pay the card off in full the next month or at the latest two months from the time you made the purchase. This will help you to use your credit card properly and avoid getting into financial trouble.

Tip two:
If you have more than one credit card you should never use the other credit cards to pay off credit cards. This is a sure sign that you can not afford what you are buying and is also one of the fastest ways to find yourself in dire straights when it comes to paying off your debt.
Tip three:
Using a credit card is a great way to help build positive credit history as long as you use it responsible. One of the keys to using it responsible is to never owe more on your credit cards than you can pay back if you had too. This means if you can not afford to payback $100 right now you should not have a $100 balance on your credit card.
Tip four:
Another time that credit cards can also come in handy is in emergency situations. You never know when you are going to be out of work due to a job injury or when your car might break down or a child gets sick. Having a credit card in these situations is a life saver because you might be in an area that you can not access your savings or that does not accept out of state checks.
Tip five:
Another time that is okay to use your credit card is when you have to make a reservation to rent a car or book a hotel room. Many times these reservations will ask for a valid credit card number so that they can hold your room, but once you get there you can pay for the rooms or cars how ever you wish. Credit cards are also a form of a secondary ID when it comes to renting a car or cashing a check.
Tip six:
Another time that you should use a credit card rather than another form of payment is when you may need protection on a repair or a purchase. If you have a problem knowing that you can decline or delay your payment to the person selling you the product or making the repair will help you to get faster customer service.
Tip seven:
You should also use a credit card if you have to make a large purchase that is a necessity, such as new tires for your car or towing charges because your car has become disabled due to an accident. Many times your insurance company will reimburse you for the towing costs, so you can still pay off the charges quickly.
Tip eight:
A great reason you should use your credit card is to purchase an item that will last longer than the time it will take you to pay off the debt and at the same time will save you money in other aspects of your life. For example buying storm windows or putting insulation in your home. The windows and insulation are a one time expense that will lasts for years, and it will also save you money on heating and cooling your home.
