Adult ADHD causes individuals to struggle focusing on things, organizing their daily lives, and to get by on a day-by-day basis. 1. Distractions. Many people with ADHD find that they get distracted easily. These distractions often cause you to struggle at work or they can cause you to have a difficult time in your relationship. Multi-tasking is often not an option for adults that suffer from ADHD. A phone call or a noise during a business meeting can easily cause your mind to spin into a whirlwind of thoughts, causing you to lose focus on what the speaker in the meeting was saying.
2. Organizational issues. Another symptom of adult ADHD is having problems with organizing your daily life. A BlackBerry or Palm Pilot device may be the only way you are able to get through your day-to-day activities. Struggling with organizing your life can often cause you to be late and you may end up missing several appointments.
3. Problems with focusing. Adults that suffer from ADHD often have a hard time focusing. This is often because of distractions, but even without any distractions, your mind tends to wander. 10. Day-to-day struggles. Make a list of all the things that are difficult for you to do.
