Best exercises to trim your butt

If a trim, shapely butt is your goal, you're not alone. Millions and millions of dollars each year are spent on diets, personal trainers, equipment, and surgeries in the quest to achieve the perfect backside.
You can, however, trim your butt without resorting to expensive surgeries or fad diets. There are a number of exercises that can effectively reshape your butt, making it trim and toned.
If you're carrying excess weight in your butt, you will have to burn fat throughout your entire body. You can't spot reduce, per Se, but you can do toning exercises in addition to cardio work to give your butt a toned, more defined look.

- StairMaster. If you have access to one, the StairMaster, or similar machines, are great for both toning the butt while trimming fat from it at the same time. For best results, don't hang on the handles while you climb. You can also take up step aerobics. This form of aerobics was invented in the 80s and is still popular because it is so effective in toning not just the butt, but the entire lower half of the body as well.
- Walking. It's free, it's easy on the joints, and all it requires is a good pair of comfortable walking shoes. Walking is a great exercise for beginning exercisers who want to trim their butt. For better results in trimming the butt, increase the intensity by speed walking or walking uphill.
- Running/jogging. Running or jogging is another exercise that's best for trimming the butt. Running effectively burns fat all over the body by elevating the heart rate quickly burning a higher number of calories than many other exercises. Make sure to invest in a good pair of running shoes, and layer your clothing if you're going to be running outside.
- Bicycling. A bicycle is another good exercise for trimming your butt. For best results, bike uphill, or bike on a stationary bike that allows you to adjust and increase the intensity, giving your butt a better workout.

- Lunges. Lunges are also great for trimming and lifting the butt. To do a lunge, lower down into a lunge position, keeping the front knee and back knee at 90 degree angles. Make sure the weight stays in your heels, then push back up to the starting position.
