Chelation therapy and cholesterol

Why should I be worried about high cholesterol?
More and people across the world are suffering from high cholesterol. The dangers of high cholesterol are many. High cholesterol leads to fatigue, poor sleep, heart pain, and depression. It can, if not treated in time, eventually lead to heart attack and stroke and death. Usually the overweight are suffering from high cholesterol, but they are not the only ones. It is possible to weigh normally and still have cholesterol problems. You may have inherited the condition, for example, or you may just have a fast metabolism that quickly burns up the food you eat so that you stay slender, while still taking internal damage.

How does high cholesterol occur?
Again, high cholesterol can be something that you simply inherit from your parents or grandparents. But most often it is the result of poor diet and lack of exercise. If you eat too many fatty, greasy foods, for example, you stand a good chance of having high cholesterol. Combine bad eating habits with an inactive lifestyle, and real problems occur. Usually the consumption of a lot of animal products leads to high cholesterol. Animal products are products that come from animals, such as meat, cheese, milk, cream, and eggs. All of these products are high in soluble fat, that is, fat that sticks to your insides.
What is happening inside my body when I have high cholesterol?
Basically, your arteries are becoming clogged with fatty acids, which makes it difficult for your blood to flow properly. You can think of your arteries as narrow tubes that bring blood to your heart and brain and the rest of your body. When that blood is obstructed somehow, you begin to slow down, you can't think as clearly, you don't feel as energetic. If it's slowed down too much, clots can develop, which usually lead to heart attack, stroke, death.
How can I avoid high cholesterol?
By eating right and exercising. Eating right includes eating a lot of natural products - products that grow out of the earth. Natural products include fruits, vegetables, beans, and grains. Eating a lot of these will help to restore your body to good working order. Combine that sort of diet with exercise (walking, hiking, gardening, etc.) and you'll go a long way towards healing yourself. Of course, any new diet or exercise program should ideally be worked out under the influence of your doctor.
What is chelation therapy? How can chelation therapy help me lower my cholesterol?
Chelation therapy is a process that helps you to flush elements from your body that tend to stick together and form deposits in your arteries. Chelation therapy goes after certain minerals that clump together and lead to blood clots. It uses a chemical known as EDTA to do this. Some research has shown that it chelation therapy can be a great tool in fighting high cholesterol. It is, however, only one tool, and should be part of a combination of things.
What does having chelation therapy entail for me?
Chelation therapy entails having EDTA put into your body either intravenously or through a pill. It varies, but most people have chelation therapy sessions between 20 to 50 times before seeing results. You will take blood tests as you go along to ensure that everything is working properly. You should talk to your doctor before deciding to undergo chelation therapy. Some studies have shown chelation therapy to work in reducing or helping to reduce high cholesterol, while others have not come up with any definite answer as to chelation therapy's effectiveness.
