These foods are mostly found in the grocery store. If you want to get exotic, you may have to go to specialty stores to find the foods you want to help you stay hydrated if you are not a big drinker.

It's true we all need to stay hydrated, there are some people that do not like to drink water to help their body stay hydrated. These people can look at the foods they are eating and see how they can change what they eat so that the foods they do eat help hydrate their body.

There are three main food groups that will help you to stay hydrated if you are not a big drinker. The first is fresh fruits, juicy ones, the second is fresh vegetable, especially green ones, and the third is soups, broth or water based soups. Incorporating these into your diet will help you to stay hydrated.

Juicy fruit can be so tasty and will help hydrate you when you are not a big drinker. There are many fruits to choose from. It is best to eat the fruits that are in season if you are trying to stay hydrated. The fruit in season will have less packaging time and will offer the best hydrating benefits.

Eat the fruit for a snack or when you feel thirsty or even a little rundown. The fresh fruit will give you the needed hydration to feel better and be healthier. Here are some fresh fruit choices that will help hydrate you even if you are not a big drinker. Some great first choices are apples, kiwi, watermelon, grapefruit, coconut, strawberries, and any type of berries.

The coconut especially will help with the hydrating your body if you are not a big drinker, but coconuts are not always easy to find, especially in season. Berries are one of the next best. They offer a wide variety to choose from and one isn't necessarily better than the next. So choose any berry you like to help you stay hydrated if you are not a big drinker. Apples, watermelon, grapefruit and kiwi are typically pretty easy to find. Eat what is in season and you will be able to have a variety in your diet.

The second food group is vegetables. Vegetable and fruits are in the same food group on the food pyramid, but they are two different types of food. Both will help you to stay hydrated if you are not a big drinker. Vegetables, especially the green one that are fresh provide many nutrient that help the body to stay hydrated and not get too heavy with other foods.

The vegetable can be eaten with a meal or alone. It is better for hydration purposes to eat the vegetables raw. Cooking them will take out the natural moisture and hydration. Here are some great vegetables that can help you to stay hydrated if you are not a big drinker. Bok choy, celery, escarole, green salad, spinach, cabbage, and broccoli are great choices.

Bok choy is a Chinese vegetable that is considered a cabbage. It is highly hydrating and can be put on salads. It is white and sometime is called white cabbage. This may help you when you are trying to find bok choy. Eating green salad with whatever else you choose to put on it will help you to stay hydrated if you are not a big drinker. Try to get salad that is crisp and moist, this will help the best. Collard greens are a type of cabbage and will help to hydrate the body, especially if you can eat them raw like in a salad.

The third group of food that will help you to stay hydrated if you are not a big drinker is soup, broth soup will help the best. Broth soup can give you some liquid that your body needs and will therefore hydrate you. A good soup to try is a vegetable chicken soup. If you don't like chicken, get vegetable soup or any kind of broth soup.

Whatever you do eat to help you stay hydrated, do not drink soda pop. If you are not a big drinker, then when you do drink, drink water, milk or 100% juice, not soda. Soda will actually dehydrate the body, and will not quench your thirst. When you do eat the foods that help you stay hydrated when you are not a big drinker, eat fresh fruits and vegetables as well as broth soups.
