Getting enough water, pros and cons

There are a million reasons to drink water, and everyone has heard the claim that our bodies are 90% water, etc. The fact is, water is one of the healthiest things we can do for ourselves. Whether our bodies are 55% of 99% water, it really does not matter. What we need to consider is that our body requires hydration, particularly from pure water, in order to function properly.

Here are the pros that happen when you get enough water:
Clearer skin. Skin requires plenty of water to function the way that it is supposed to. When you do not get enough water your skin can not flush out the toxins and dirt, etc. as well, and this generally results in acne. There are other causes, but insufficient hydration is a huge contributor to acne and other skin problems. For example, when you do not get enough water, your skin is not as elastic. This can mean stretch marks if you gain weight. It can also mean not healing as quickly or as well from scrapes, cuts, bruises, etc. Skin covers our entire body, so making sure we get enough water to ensure it is able to do its job the right way is huge.

More energy. Water is essential to our energy as well. When you are not properly hydrated, it is easy to get worn out and to not function well. In fact, many doctors and nutritionists recommend starting your day out with 16 oz of water. This helps to replenish from your night fast, and it also helps you to start the day with plenty of energy. Do a self test, go without having any water, and see how energetic you feel. Then replenish yourself. You can literally feel energy seeping back in.

Healthier system function. All of our body systems, from our excretory, to our vascular system requires that we have water. If we are not properly hydrated, then we can not eliminate the way we are supposed to, and it can be very painful. If we are not properly hydrated, then our blood flow is not as good. Getting enough water is essential to all body functions and systems. From digestion to liver function. So, the pro of getting enough water is simply that you will be a healthier person, far healthier then if you choose to hydrate with flavored waters, sodas, or even juices.

Helps curb hunger. One of the huge things about getting enough water is that it is going to help you eat the right portion sizes. We live in a super sized world, and eat far more than we need to, and do not feel full. If you drink enough water, your appetite will be curbed, and you will not need to eat as much to feel full.

Here are the cons that happen when you get enough water:
You probably have to pee more frequently.
There are literally no cons to getting enough water. Water, if purified, and in a natural state, meaning no flavorings added, or no carbonation etc. added, is one of the best things we can do for our bodies.

It is smart to carry a water bottle with you all day so that you never get yourself in a position where you are dehydrated, or do not have sufficient water for your body to function the way that it is supposed to. Order water at your meals rather than soda when you eat out, or at least in addition to your soda. Start your day off with water, and end it with water. Get plenty to drink, count if you have to in order to ensure you get your 8, 8 oz glasses a day. If you are a bigger person, drink more.
