Long hair: Most people with long hair do not use a whole lot of product other than shampoos and conditioners. The following are some good ones to use:

Shampoo: Something with time released moisturizers, and detoxifiers. For example, Paul Mitchell Shampoo or Arbonne shampoo. Both of these are great for your hair, keep it from getting too dry, and can self adjust to meet your hair needs.

Conditioner: No matter what conditioner you use, you want to avoid getting in on your scalp. Instead, condition from the ears down. You may also want to consider using an aloe detangler, instead of a leave in conditioner. However, some of the best conditioners for long hair include: Hair Energizers Silk Protien conditioner, or The Body Shop conditioner. These are natural, plant derived products that will protect, not further damage your hair.

Hair spray: You want to use something that is light weight, your hair length is going to cause gravity to pull on it, and it is already going to be heavy, and difficult to get body, so use a hair spray that does not leave it really heavy. A good example would be Herbal Essences hairsprays, or Got 2B Glued hairspray.

Medium length hair: When you have medium to short hair you will probably use more product than if you have longer locks. So, you may want a gel or serum for after your shower to help with body but reduce friz, a conditioner, a putty or paste for texture, and of course some hair spray to hold it in place. Short hair: For short hair you will likely use a lot or no product. Start with a serum conditioner. Goldwell's is great, or try any from your local grocery store. You can find some great serums for a fraction of the name brand price. You may also want to visit your local salon and purchase their featured products.

Next you will want a good texturizer, Bed Head creates the best, but Aveda has a good one, or you can try some of the less expensive brands and see what you like.
