How often you should do aerobics?

If you have thought about doing aerobics or if you are just beginning in aerobics you might be wondering how often you should do aerobics. Or perhaps you have been doing aerobics for awhile but you are unsure about how often you should be doing aerobics. No matter the reason the truth of the matter is that there is not really a set answer. Sure there are guidelines that you should follow when doing aerobics and there are certain recommendations that you can follow to get the best results from doing aerobics. But the answer to how often you should do aerobics is going to be a personal one based on the amount of time you can dedicate to doing aerobics and how much you want to do aerobics.

Here are some recommendations on how often you should do aerobics.

Recommendation one:
As most of you are probably aware of your aerobic routine should consist of at least 5 minutes of warming up, 20 minutes of exercise and at least 5 minutes of cooling down. This is the most basic workout; you can actually increase the warm up and cool down period to 10 minutes and the actual period of exercise to 45 minutes depending on your own personal style and commitment. But no matter how long or short of a routine you choose you should do the entire routine each time you do aerobics, this way you are always getting the same amount of exercise.

Recommendation two:

The best thing to do when doing aerobics is to do your aerobics every day. By doing aerobics everyday you are going to achieve the maximum results in the fastest time possible, not to mention you are going to benefit from being in excellent shape. Doing aerobics everyday will also provide other benefits such as reducing your risk of heart disease and improving your stamina.

Recommendation three:
Because it is not always possible to do aerobics every day you can actually just do them as much as possible throughout out the week, but basically the more days that you do aerobics the better. If you are thinking about doing aerobics three times a week try going for four instead, that way you have more days on than you do off. This is the best way to achieve the best results and other benefits that aerobics provides without doing them every day.

Recommendation four:

No matter how many days a week you are going to do aerobics you should actually set aside at least 30 minutes for your aerobic workout, but more can be better. Sometimes people find it hard to set aside 30 minutes at one time so they split the time up into smaller sections and while this is o.k., it will still provide you with the health benefits of aerobics, but the training aspect of the workouts will be lost. If you are having a hard time setting aside 30 minutes a day you should try getting up 30 minutes earlier in the morning to complete your aerobics workout.

Just remember that these are only recommendations on how often you should do aerobics. Regardless of how often you do aerobics you are still going to receive the health benefits that aerobics provides, but you might be losing out on the training effect that you are looking for. If you are doing aerobics as a form of training you should do them at least 3 times a day for at least 30 minutes so that you can get the training effect.
