How to eliminate stress so you can be healthy and happy

Stress is bad for your body, it is bad for you both emotionally and physically. The following are some tips for how to eliminate stress so you can be healthy and happy:

  1. Live within your means. Money causes more stress than anything else. If you look at statistics of divorce, one of the most common issues that lead to the divorce is arguing about money. Money means marital problems, money means personal problems, money, debt, and the desire to have more than you should based on your income means stress. So, one of the fastest, and most effective ways to eliminate stress so you can be healthy and happy is to live within your means. If you do not have the money for it, do not buy it! Living within your means is not buying things you do not have the money for. Even if you will be receiving a paycheck in a few days, wait to buy something until your check comes. If you can really do this, not use credit, or if you do pay off your balance each month, and not purchase big ticket items, or even small items until you have cash for them, your stress will greatly reduce.
  2. Exercise, it is a great stress eliminator. One part of eliminating stress is not just stopping what causes the stress, but also get rid of the stress you already have. One great way to get rid of the stress you are already feeling is to exercise. Go for a run when you are frustrated and pound it out on the pavement, lift weights, and sweat it out. Hop on the bike, get in the pool, or do whatever type of exercise you prefer. It has been shown that people who work out for a minimum of 30 minutes a day are actually healthier, less stressed, and find that they have more time because they sleep better and perform at higher levels. So, get some exercise, eliminate stress.
  3. Get plenty of sleep. A great way to help reduce stress, and prevent it is to make sure you get plenty of sleep. Sleep helps keep your immune system up so that it can fight the negative effects of stress. Sleep also helps you to function better, handle challenges better, and just live better, so get become less stressed. So, go to bed early, get your eight hours.
  4. Reduce and simplify your life . One way to eliminate stress in your life is to reduce and simplify. The mom who has to drop one kid at soccer and another at dance, get dinner done, the laundry folded, the meal to the sick neighbor, and work full time is going to be a lot more stressed than the mom who carpools with friends for soccer and dance, make freezer meals so only cooks once a week, etc. If you have too much on your plate, clear some room in your schedule. Have your child participate in one less activity. Do not make more commitments than you can handle, even if you want to be able to take someone dinner, or watch their kid, if your schedule is too full, then do not commit to it.
  5. Find another outlet. If you want to eliminate stress, find your outlet. If writing helps you get rid of stress, get a journal and write out your stress. If eating eliminates your stress eat (unless of course this causes you to gain weight which increases your stress levels), if painting does, paint, if music does, listen. Find your stress eliminator and use it to your advantage
