How to get the most of your thirty-minute workout? Time is so hard to have extra of now days. We need every minute to count, which includes the thirty minutes of exercise time we have on our treadmills.
We all know exercising is important for our overall health. We even think about between corporate meetings, soccer practice and the trip to the grocery store. However, it is not that easy to get the time to do that exercise. So when we have the chance, we need to make the most of it. Add a little speed. By simply speeding up your walk, jog or run, you will increase the calories lost. You will also increase the healthy endorphins, and also increase your metabolism.
You will not need to go from a walk to a run to get this change to happen. You can simply speed up your movement a little bit.

Increase the incline of the treadmill about 2%. This 2% incline will help to increase the calories burned. It will also help your body feel like it is on a more natural walking pattern. You will also get more muscle workout for your legs, and lower back.

Use a couple lighter size weights to add a little resistance. You can put them on your ankles, and or on your wrists, or in your hands. Any additional weight will increase the effect of the walking, jogging or running. Making more for your body than if you were to simply walk, jog, or run.

Add some variation. Sure you may not be ready for a full jog or run as you are starting out your exercise plan. However, adding in a couple minutes of jogging with your thirty-minute walk can help you to get more out of your exercise time.
If you are used to doing thirty minutes of jogging, throw in a little walking, and some running in with the jogging. You will see that there is a positive effect by putting some variation in the program.

Remember to stretch out, warm up and cool down after your initial run, jog or walk. This also burns calories. Though it is at a lower amount. However, it is more important than you would think.
