How to get the smoky eye look? That look that causes the male heart to melt can be easily accomplished with a few simple steps. Heat is what comes with smoke and the smoky eye look is simply that HOT!

Blending, blending, blending! You need to make sure that whatever colors it is you choose, that you can make them blend well. Here are some options of colors you can use, and also what make up you will need.

Mix

  • Soft gold eye shadow

  • Deep purple eye shadow

Or
  • Champagne eye shadow

  • Bright blue eye shadow

Or
  • Peach eye shadow

  • Deep green eye shadow

The idea for the eye shadow is that it should be light base colors with rich, deep dark colors.

Then

  • Mascara (Black or brown is usually good)
  • Eyeliner (Black, smoky gray, or brown will work)
Here are the steps you can try to create that look.

Step 1

Start with the preparation of the eyelid. You need to prepare the eyelid with a base that will keep the colors from creasing through out the day. This means you can use something called a primer or oil free eye shadow base to hold the other shadows into place. You can use anything like Mac's paint, or even the Fresh Face protecting eye primer.

Step 2

Now you will want to apply the eyeliner of your choice. The idea is to make the line from your upper lash line inner corner, to the outer corner of the eye. This should have a fuller amount toward the middle of the eyelid, and thinner amounts on the outer corners. You can also go with colored eyeliner, however make sure the colors blend well with the eye shadows of your choice.

Step 3

Next the blending will need to begin. Blend in the color on the bottom lashes. For the color to be the smoky eye looks on the bottom, you will want to use lighter eyeliner. You will want to smudge the eyeliner to get the desired look. You can also use a eye shadow to get the smudge look.

Step 4

Now apply the light base color again. This will go on with the blending method. You do not want it to look separated. Use a little bit of the brush, or a cloth of some kind to blend it all together. A good color for this is a cream shade. You can use many different colors as long as they blend well. Taupe and pearl are also very nice to blend with.

Step 5

Keeping the dark color bellow the crease, start to blend the dark color on now. Use the brush or cloth to blend the darker color into the lighter color. Maintain the separation bellow the crease though. Blend this color into the eyeliner so that it does not look separate. They should always be blended to get the right look.

Step 6

Check to make sure that both eyes has the same look. You will want to have the look even or it will make one eye look larger than the other. You will want to use the same amount on each eye. Also, maintaining consistency on the strokes used.

Step 7

Now you can use your volume accenting mascara. There should be at least 2-3 coats put on in order to make the lashes their thickets and darkest looking.
