How to increase the collagen in your skin

There are ways to help you increase the collagen in your skin, here is how. With all the many products on the shelves in the supermarket that claim to increase the collagen in your skin, or to reduce the wrinkles around your eye, and much more, how do you know what really works.

In order to know the answer to this, you will have to ask your body what it really needs. The most common vitamin that will increase the collagen in your body is Vitamin C. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that fights the ultraviolet radiation that tends to generate the oxygen free radicals that causes wrinkles. The radicals that cause wrinkles and lines are plasma-generated radicals.

So now that we know that the Vitamin C can help with replacing collagen in your skin, then we also need to know that combining vitamin E to that will create a treatment that will work wonders for your skin.

Vitamin E works against the fat-soluble radicals. Collagen is a major component, of most tissues on our bodies. It is part of the formation, maintenance and structural stability.

While eating foods rich in vitamins E and C is a good idea, you will not receive the amount of each of these vitamins without a topical treatment of some kind. When you use a topical cream or lotion with vitamin C, it will be well absorbed into the skin, which increases the collagen in your skin.

Because vitamin C helps protect against UVA and UVB, it is a good idea to use a little extra lotion or cream with Vitamin C in it so that you can help prevent the damage from the sun.

There are also some great things that you can do to help prevent skin damage over the long run. Limited direct sunlight and the use of a good sun block will help a great deal to slow the aging affects that the sun has naturally on your skin.

While the sun does damage to your skin, and making it harder for your skin to stay younger looking, there are other things that contribute to fine lines and wrinkles. The chemicals we use, and are around, the weather as a whole, in addition to stress and much more.

With this in mind, you will need to set up a regimen for your skin that has high levels of antioxidants. If you use a cream or lotion with high levels of antioxidants you will see a much clearer picture of skin.
You can also use many of the over the counter skin moisturizing lotions that have vitamins in them. These creams can show some improvement over a couple weeks of use. However, be aware that if you stop using these creams, the lines and wrinkles tend to come back.

For naturally healthy skin, and collagen levels that are increased in order to create a long term healthier skin, you will want to not only eat foods rich in vitamins C, E and A, but you will also want to treat your skin with creams and lotions with the same high levels of C, E and A vitamins.

It is your skin, and in order to keep it healthier looking, you will need to increase the levels of collagen for the skin to remain young and strong. It is better to start increasing the collagen now, instead of waiting until the lines and wrinkles are there.
