How much water is enough can depend on the person. A typical adult needs at least 12 cups of water a day. Women that are pregnant or nursing should have more and children should have about 12 cups if they are active and running around. It may seem harder to get the water you need in the winter, but getting enough water year round is one way to keep you skin looking healthy.
2. Eating right will help the skin to have a nice healthy glow to it. The right foods allow all your skin to draw from your body the nutrients that are needed to maintain healthy skin. Eating right includes lots of vegetables and fruit and limiting the sugar and refined foods.
3. Not smoking will greatly help with keeping your skin healthy. When a person smokes, it speeds up the aging process in the skin and increases the wrinkles. Smokers can add about 10 years onto the age of their skin, which isn't healthy.
4. Protecting your skin from the sunlight will also help limit the wrinkles that your skin has. Some sunlight is good, like about 20 minuets 3-4 times a week, this will help your skin and body get the Vitamin D it needs. This can be done in the morning and evening hours of the day. To limit the sun your skin is exposed to, wear sunscreen, hats and long sleeve shirts when you are out in the sun for a long period of time.
5. Cleaning your skin is extremely helpful when you want to keep your skin healthy. It is also a good idea to clean it gently. Don't use hard soaps that will cause the skin to break. Especially on the facial skin, use a gentle cleanser and don't rub too hard.
6. Getting enough moisturizer on your skin will help your skin keep its elasticity and healthy feel and look. Lotions are available for every part of the skin, from the face to the feet. It is a good thing to try and use moisturizers or lotions for the proper skin area.
7. Keep your skin healthy by being careful when you shave. When shaving you will want to get the hair softened and use a sharp razor. This will help the skin keep its smoothness and your skin will be healthier. And be sure to moisturize your skin after you shave.
8. Getting enough sleep will give your skin the time to be rejuvenated. Sleep will also reduce the appearance of dark circles under the eyes as well as the tired floppy look of skin on the arms and legs. Sleep will keep your skin looking youthful.
