Tip #2: Wash your hands
It has been said time and time again, that if you want to fight off and even avoid catching a cold during the winter seasons then make sure you keep your hands clean. This is the fastest way for germs to spread through an office, or classroom. Your hands come in contact with everything and thus spread everything. Every time you shake a hand, touch a door knob, or borrow someone else's pen you either spread or get someone else's germs. Some easy ways to avoid this are:
Making calls on your cell phone instead of using the office phone
Sneeze into your elbow instead of into your hands
Throw tissues away as soon as you have used them
Carry your own pen
Tip #3: Keep your house clean
You don't just have to keep your house clean because company's coming over for dinner. Keeping a tidy and clean house can help prevent germs from being spread in your home and decided to stay for a while. And don't just clean when people get sick; cleaning your house on a regular basis can help prevent illness from even happening. This is especially true if you have children in your home. Make sure you wipe down door knobs, bathrooms, and counter tops. Anything that those little hands come in contract with regularly needs to be cleaned. The cleaner your house is, the less likely you will have to fight off a cold (which in an un- kept, un-tidy house can mean fighting off two or three colds). So stop it before it starts.
Tip #4: Take your vitamins
Along with finding foods that are rich in vitamins and nutrients, you should also be taking your vitamins. There are multivitamins available for every person to take and they can usually be purchased over the counter. If you really want to try and avoid getting sick this winter then remember to take your vitamins. Extra vitamin C can help boost your immune system, and zinc can actually help prevent you from getting a cold. Don't think you're body will just be able to resist the common cold on its own; give a little help.
Learning how to not get a cold this season is simple; take your vitamins, keep things clean, and wash your hands. It's really that simple.
