So you love aerobics. Who doesn't? Aerobics are such a great form of exercise. They can be done in the water, on land, in a gym, at home, and so on and so forth. Many of us love aerobics because we can listen to music while we are doing them and even dance while we are doing them. Not to mention the fact that aerobics are a great form of exercise. Aerobics help build stronger muscles, and stronger heart and lungs. Aerobics also help people feel healthier and help them to have more energy. More energy means more energy for the things that matter, and so more happiness. Yes, it is true that an aerobics program can actually make you happier. Step aerobics are a great form of aerobic exercise, because they involve several different body parts, and because they can be done to music with a beat. Everyone likes to move with a beat to their favorite music, and when they can do it while exercising they are even happier. So if you love aerobics so much, why don't you learn how to teach them to other people. Teaching aerobics to other people can be a worthwhile career or hobby. It can be very rewarding to help someone feel better, both about their image, and physically. But how can you teach step aerobics to someone else? Surely it requires lots of training and years of school, right? It actually does not take years of schooling, although you should know that the best thing someone can do to prepare to teach step aerobics is to know step aerobics well themselves. Taking several different step aerobics classes is just the beginning. You also need to practice these at home and get into good shape before you try to teach anyone else.

Make sure that you take a CPR and first aid class before you try to teach anyone how to do any sort of exercise. You never know what kinds of problems people may have while doing step aerobics, and you need to be prepared to handy any situation.
Aerobics are all about the body, so you should learn some things about anatomy and the different parts of the body. Figure out how step aerobics really help the body and strengthen it. You will need to answer your student's questions about the body, and you had better know a few things or you will look foolish.
Get certified by the national aerobics groups, such as the American Council on Exercise (ACE), or the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA).
Try to figure out how you want to cue your students while doing routines. Practice various cuing techniques.
A very important part of becoming a step aerobics teacher is to practice teaching with friends or family. Get a group of friends or family members together to practice with. Run through your routine and take their advice on how to change the routine for the best. Notice if they had a good time, or if the workout wad too difficult. These are the sorts of questions you will always need to ask yourself when teaching step aerobics.
Start teaching with another step aerobics instructor who has more experience. Observe how they do things and follow their advice. Remember that the best way to learn anything is from someone who knows how to do it well.
Either create your own routine or master an old one. Make sure that you have this routine down flawlessly and that you understand all the transitions in the music. After these steps you should be ready to teach step aerobics.
