Money saving tips for getting great hair

Most people think that in order to have great hair they have to spend a lot of money. However, this is simply untrue. While you can spend endless amounts of money on your hair, you do not have to, to have great hair.
Tip 1: Choose the right cut for your face. Whether you pay $50 for your hair cut or $15 if you get a cut that is not going to work for your face, you will hate it. So, to get great hair and not spend a lot, start with a good foundation of choosing the right cut for your hair and face. Your stylist should be able to tell you some of the things you can do for cute cuts for your face, or you can look online. There are lots of sites that show pictures of the best cuts for your face shape.

Tip 2: Skip the fancy salons. If all you want is for your hair to look healthy, you don't need a fancy $50 haircut. In fact, it is possible, and probable to get a great cut at some of the strip mall places that charge less than $20. However, you have to find the right stylist for your hair type, and you have to be consistent with your cuts. You can't get a simple cut wrong if it is right for you. Keep your ends split free, and visit your salon on a regular basis in order to keep shape, and keep your hair healthy. Even in a fancy salon, the wrong stylist can mean a bad cut. So, for great hair, and money saving, choose a stylist familiar with the type of cut you want.
Tip 3: If you want to save money and still have great hair, your best bet is to go with a simple hair cut. The simpler the cut, the better. What you need is a cut that will look good as it grows out, otherwise you are going to spend far more money on your hair than you have to in order to keep it looking good. A chin-length bob or perhaps long layers is a good way to go because even as it grows you can feel good about your hair. A layered cut will add body and looks great blown out, air dried, or scrunched up after a shower. Most layered cuts or bobs do not take a lot of time, and do not have to be re-cut every few months, instead they can be let go some.
Tip 4: If you want to have great hair, and you do not want to spend too much money, then do not let yourself get bored with your hair. If you get too bored, then you will do something drastic that you are likely to regret later. So, instead, go to the store and get a home dye kit that is no more than a couple of shades lighter or darker than your own. If you do not dye too many shades different, you do not have to keep up your roots, and you will likely be satisfied for a while without paying too much for a cut or a color. You can buy a hair dye kit for less than $10. This is far less expensive then haircuts each month.
Tip 5: If you have some money, getting a half-head of foiled highlights will brighten boring hair, and the highlights effect tends to last a bit longer than overall color, because you don't have to hassle as much with upkeep. So, try this.
