Reducing your intake of fats
Take a look at the title, it says reducing fats, not eliminating fats in your diet. Fats play a big part in your overall health, and eliminating them is not the answer.
Think of your fat intake like a bank account. You need to have a budget for your money to be taken care of the right way, your fat works the same way. You need to budget the fat that you eat.

Having a meal plan will help you to budget the fat that you eat over the course of your day. Make sure that you plan snacks in between your meals that are healthy, this will help you to stay away from the vending machine at work.
There are a few tricks that you can incorporate into your daily diet to help you with your fat intake.
Start by buying reduced fat food. Find foods that you love in reduced fat, that way you aren't giving up the foods you love. Remember that cholesterol free and salt free are great but that doesn't mean fat free.
Watch your snacks. Avoid sweets when choosing your snacks, choose snacks that are low in fat and sugar. Sugar can have many negative effects on your health just like fat.
Make sure that you have low fat dairy in your diet. Buy low fat dairy with all of the other low fat foods. Check the sugar content of the dairy also, that will help with your decisions.
When cooking food find a way to cook it that is healthy. Try boiling, broiling, roasting, baking, or stir-frying. Avoid having food that is deep fried. There are many ways that you can cut fat out of your diet just in the cooking process.
Find ways to season your food without salt. There are many spices that can create better flavors than salt with less fat. Be creative, you can come up with some amazing flavors.
When you are eating eggs, try eating only egg whites. The yolks are the unhealthy part of the egg. Egg whites can be used in any recipe instead of the whole egg.
Try to limit the red meat that you eat. There are many other meats that you can eat instead that contain much less fat. Try replacing ground beef with ground turkey. You will find that there is still lots of flavor without the fat.
The few red meats that you do eat should be trimmed of any visible fat. And when you are eating chicken you should always remove the skin. These ways will help you to keep the meat you love in your diet.
Get all of your servings of fruits and vegetables in each day. Fruits and veggies are naturally fat free and give you many of the necessary nutrients for a healthy life.
To keep your body healthy you should be replacing the fat in your diet with protein and carbohydrates. These will give your body the energy it needs without leaving the fat deposits that you are trying to avoid.
Remember that there are fats that are better for you than others. Some of the fats that you should avoid are saturated fats (fats from animals) and trans-fatty acids (fats that are lab created). These fats are going to do the most damage for your body. Some of the good fats are monounsaturated fats (fats from oils) and polyunsaturated fats (fats from fish). These are the fats that should be reduced but not eliminated from your diet.
