The best music to listen to when using the treadmill

Treadmills are great tools for excellent exercise. They help many different types of athletes train for serious athletic competitions, and they can help you get into the best shape of your life. Treadmills are not easy to use when you first start using them because they are a bit different than just running outside on the grass or on the concrete. For one, you will be able to control the speed that you are running at (at least on some treadmills) and you will also be able to control the incline of the treadmill (also only on some treadmills). You can watch television while you are on a treadmill, which would be pretty hard to do while running in any other way. Treadmills are also much easier on the joints, if they are designed to cushion the blow of each running step. If your treadmill is designed this way your running will be much easier on the knee joints, which are normally pounded fairly severely through normal running. One of the great benefits of running on a treadmill is that it allows you to listen to any music you want to while working out. Of course many of those MP3 players and Ipods allow you to do this these days, but you have to strap the music player to your body while you are working out. You might be wondering how you may best use this advantage of your treadmill, since it is the best way to listen to music while running. What kind of music is best to listen to while running on a treadmill?

This question is not easily answered, and for a couple of reasons. Firs of all, you should probably listen to the music that you like to listen to while running on a treadmill, and nothing else. I can't tell you what your favorite music is, so you decide what you will listen to while you are working out. The choice should be up to you, because it is your workout and your time.

The type of music also varies depending on the type of workout you want. If you are going for very fast paced and quick, I recommend that you get something with a very rapid beat and lots of energy. Choose something that has an encouraging message, so that you are very `pumped up' while running. For a more leisurely workout I recommend a slower, and possibly even relaxing form of music. This might work if you are simply walking on the treadmill as a relaxing way to get a little bit of exercise. In either case, the music should not be too relaxing, because you are exercising after all. Make sure that it is somewhat lively and that it feels like it fits the style of exercise you are trying to do.

Another important thing to remember is that the beat of the music you listen to can greatly impact the way that you workout. Your feat will probably try to follow that beat naturally, so if the music is too fast you will find yourself running too fast. If it is too slow then you will have a hard time getting your workout to the level that you want it to be at.

Experiment with a bunch of different types of music and see what works best for you. As your workouts change your music will also change along with it. The most important thing is that you enjoy your music, because if you do, it will make your workout that more enjoyable.
