First tip- Eat your big meal in the morning, by noon start to eat light foods and healthy snacks. When you eat big meals in the evening, the food sits with you longer. You don't have time to burn it off. Your metabolism naturally slows at night anyways which is why the calories turn into fat and you don't get the weight lost.
Second tip- When you snack, eat an apple or any piece of fruit. Fruit will help your metabolism increase, which will help you to burn off any calories you need to get rid of. Nuts are a good snack too, they are a high protein and will help you to lose weight while not starving.
Third tip- Stay away from the processed sugars. Foods that have a high amount of processed sugar are not something you should be eating to lose weight. This includes candy bars, granola bars, boxed dinners, and a number of other foods.
Fourth tip- Have homemade meals. Making meals from scratch will reduce the amount of processed sugar and starch that goes in to the foods you are eating. Make lots of meals that include fresh vegetables and fruits. Stay away from frying your meals. Make fun and great green salads for a meal. You could add nuts and craisins etc, to make the salad irresistible.
Fifth tip- Eat smaller portioned meals more often. Many times there are two or three main meals eaten a day. More meals that are still large meals will not help you to lose weight. The smaller meals help your body to burn off the fewer calories quicker.
Sixth tip- Don't eat all that is on your plate. It used to be considered polite to leave the last bit or two on the dinner plate. To lose weight while you are eating at someone else's house, don't eat all that is given to you. It is okay to leave some food on the plate. Eating does not need to be gorging and storing up food for the winter. Eat until you are barely full and the politely say "no thank you" to any more.
Seventh tip- Drink water and lots of it. Water helps the body in so many ways and this includes losing weight. When you sit down to eat, drink water, and stay away from any kind of soda and some juice. Also stay hydrated throughout the day by drinking water.

Ninth tip- Stay away from fast food, especially combo meals that can be jumbo sized. If you have to eat out choose salads or soups off the menu. They will have the least amount of fried fat and fats in general. Also never jumbo size the combo meals. Don't get a combo meal if a sandwich or salad will fill you. Tenth tip- Stop eating in front of the TV. You can lose weight just by turning off the TV and having a meal at the table. Or when you are watching the TV, don't sit and snack in front of it. Stop eating in front of the TV to lose weight.
