First thing you will do in your aerobic class is stretch. It is never good to start an exercise without stretching your muscle out. This will reduce your chances of pulling a muscle and seriously hurting yourself. Start by stretching your arms, you can but your arms behind your back, lock your hands and move them up toward your head, this will stretch the front part of your shoulders. Then you can bring one arm up over your head, bend it at the elbow and use you other hand to go behind your head and grab that elbow and pull it inward. This will stretch the under part of your arm, repeat with the other side. Next stretch your legs. Bend over and touch your toes, hold that for about 10 seconds this will stretch you hamstrings. Then stand straight up and bend one leg up and grab that foot, this stretches your quads. There are several other stretches that you should do before you start, but let's talk about aerobics steps now.
Before you start your high intensity aerobic workout you will need to do some warm up steps. You will start with a marching step. You will be standing in place while bringing your legs up as if you were marching. You will do this for a couple minutes. Then you will do a side to side step. Usually when you are in a work out class you will have plenty of room to do this. If you are in your home then you will need a big living room or you can move a few things to make room. You will start by standing in place, and then you will take a step to the right or left witch ever way you move first. If you start with your left foot you will step to the left and bring your right foot over, repeat this by moving side to side.
To get your heart rate up a little more you will want to ad a hop to your side step. So when you step to the left and bring your right foot over hop one time and go back to the right repeating this back and forth. If you want to add some resistance to your workout you can choose to wear some leg weights or you can carry hand weights in your hands. These weights can range from 2lbs - 10lbs depending on how much you can handle.
Those were just some basic steps associated with an aerobic work out. There are many other steps that you can learn. You can do more research online to find more steps or you can join an aerobics class at your local gym. Remember to always stretch out before you workout, and to stop if your become over exhausted. Make sure that you enjoy your workout so that you will be motivated to do it over again.
