What is the talk test in aerobics?

As most of you are probably aware of aerobics, which is a workout, is a form of exercise that focuses on cardio. The reason that aerobics goes so well with cardio is that aerobics is designed to increase your heart rate, and the more intense of a workout the higher your heart rate will go. But one thing that you need to know to properly do aerobics you are not going to want to push yourself to hard, instead you want to find the perfect zone. Your perfect zone in aerobics is also known as your target heart rate and there are numerous ways to find your target heart rate and just so you know your target heart rate is the perfect intensity level at which your heart is being exercised but not overworked.

There are numerous ways in which you can figure out your target heart rate. One way is by calculation, which is going to include a lot of numbers, but basically what you are going to need to do is to find out your maximum heart rate and to take a percentage of it based on your fitness level. For this method there are numerous calculators that are available online for you to use. But the good news is that there is actually an easier way to determine what your target heart rate is and this method does not involve any calculations or calculators.
But one thing that you need to be aware of before choosing this method is that this is not a guaranteed or accurate method to ensure that you are exercising at the right level of intensity for your aerobics routine. But this method is a good way to see if you are on the right track, so basically this method is just a way to estimate where you are at until you have the time and/or energy to tackle some of the more complicated methods.
The method that we are talking about is more of a test rather than a method, but it is called the talk test and surprisingly it is pretty straightforward. The talk test is basically just what it sounds like; you have to talk to pass the test. But it is a little bit more involved than just talking, but that is the main component to this test, this test will actually gauge how hard you are working.
Here are the steps you should take to perform the talking test.
Step one:
The first thing that you need to do is to begin your aerobic workout.
Step two:
After you have begun your aerobic workout what you are going to need to do is to try talking, singing or reciting a few lines from your favorite song book or just talk to yourself. But keep in mind you want to do it rather quietly so that you don't look like too much of an idiot talking out loud to yourself.
Step three:
Now that you have started talking, singing or whatever what you are going to do is need to measure how easy it is for you to talk. What you are aiming for is an intense workout that still allows you to talk comfortable. If talking is too easy to do you need to push yourself a little bit harder and if you find it hard to talk then you should step it down a notch or two. Basically what you are looking for is to be able to talk comfortably but at the same time you don't want to be able to carry on long conversations without having to stop for a deep breath.
Step four:
If you are at a level that you feel is to easy what you need to do next is to step it up a notch or two and then redo the talking test after a few minutes to see where you sit. The same thing holds true for if you are pushing yourself to hard.
