As a mother, it's basically impossible for you to find any time for yourself. Between being with your kids, running errands, cleaning the house, and working, you end up working the equivalent of more than one full time job. Where does personal time fit into the mix?

However, even though it's incredibly difficult to find any time for yourself, it's very important that you do so. It is as important for moms to get aerobic exercise as for anybody else, if not more important. Why is it more important? Moms have incredible demands being placed no them all the time. You can help keep yourself strong and healthy and better able to meet those demands if you engage in aerobics. Also, the healthier you are, the better it is for those around you. Also, doing aerobics and taking some time out for yourself can help you take a break from the duties of being a mother, and can help you spend some time each week just focusing on yourself.

If those reasons aren't enough for you, here are some more reasons why moms should do aerobics.

  1. Aerobic exercise will enlarge your heart.
  2. Aerobic exercise will help your heart increase its blood stroke volume.
  3. When you engage in aerobic exercise, your resting heart rate will slow down. A resting heart rate that is less than 60 beats per minute is a good sign of excellent physical fitness.
  4. Aerobic exercise will help your body learn to use oxygen more efficiency. More efficient use of exercise will help you increase your body's ability to burn fat while you are exercising.
  5. Aerobic exercise also ends up in more energy available for your body to use because there is more ATP and PC available in your body for energy that is needed immediately.
  6. Engaging in a lot of aerobic exercise will increase your body's endurance.
  7. Aerobic exercise will lower your blood pressure, which is fantastic for your overall health.
  8. Aerobic exercise can help your body increase its levels of good cholesterol and will decrease the amount of bad cholesterol.
  9. Engaging in aerobic exercise will reduce your risk of developing diabetes.
  10. Engaging in aerobic exercise will also reduce your risk of developing a number of other serious diseases.
  11. The longer that you engage in aerobic exercise, the faster your recovery will become after you exercise.
  12. Aerobic exercise will help make your entire cardiovascular system more efficient and able to work harder.
  13. Aerobic exercise will improve the body composition of your entire body. Aerobic exercise will help you replace fat with muscle, improving your overall fitness and appearance.
  14. The more that you participate in aerobic exercise now, the better chance you have of being at a healthy weight and having a healthy heart when you are older.
  15. Think that aerobic exercise is really just for your body? Participating in aerobics is also good for your mind and for your emotions. Aerobics helps you feel better mentally, and helps you deal with depression, stress, and other emotional and psychological difficulties much better.

As a mom, you know how hard it is to find even five minutes to spend alone each day. However, in order for your aerobics workout to be really effective, your heart rate needs to be elevated for at least 20 minutes. Some helpful hints include finding a gym near your home that offers child care. Or you could trade child care with a neighbor. You can teach your children how to exercise with you. Or you can introduce naptime into your child's vocabulary.
