Why stretching is so good for your muscles? Stretching does so much more than simply increase your range of motion. There are studies out there that have proven that there is additional benefits like, strengthening of the muscles, enhancing person performance, gets the blood moving in your body and much more.

Lets look at the ways that stretching really can help you. While stretching does not replace the standard aerobic work out or the weight lifting plans out there. The stretching you can do, surely will benefit and compliment these types of exercise.

Exercising helps in several different settings. If you are traveling, and do not have a place to get a good work out. Then you can stretch to at least keep the muscles in your body limber.

There are also the instances that a person has health limitations. These may be to illness or other issue. However stretching is the first step to building those muscles up to be able to do more.

On a small scale, stretching can do similar things to the human body as would weight training. The key is that the muscles are using those motions, just with lack of weight for one reason or another.

This theory has been proven effective in both elderly patients, and the much younger patients that have weight limitations. The key is getting the muscles moving in motions so that they are not stiff and sore due to limited movement.

The basic idea is that if there can be a minimum of 40 minutes of stretching three times per week, then the result can show significant improvement for muscle growth.

Other than strengthening and motion, you also have the relaxing feeling that comes from stretching. When you stretch you can feel your body let go of the stress that makes those muscles tight. You are also releasing the waste that is sitting in those muscles by moving them, tightening them and releasing them.

Stretching also helps with the posture your body holds. If you are sore, you tend to slump. You also tend to not use the area that is stiff. Thus, if you stretch your body will conform to the more natural stance and movement it would have. If you want to consider your posture a beauty secret, which many people do, then you are using stretching to increase your beautiful posture.

The fact is that stretching lessens the risk of damage to your muscles in the times of your regular workouts. The overall lack of flexibility will increase the incident of injury in sports also. You will see that great athletes all stretch out before a game or event in order to make sure they are not injured.

Stretching affects our bodies in so many ways. Here are some key words to keep in mind when you are stretching.

  1. Increases your strength

  2. Increases your speed

  3. Increases your endurance.

  4. Increases your agility

  5. Increases overall athletic ability

These are easy things to consider when you really look at what stretching is good for you, and what stretching can do for your muscles. In our busy lives it is easy to push of stretching and exercise. However, if you think about your life in the long run, do you want to be the person scrunched up on a bed, or the one out there running marathons or taking their grand kids for walks? Stretching betters our lives today and in the long run.
