Why you should become health conscious at a young age
The best gift we have in life is our body. Our body is what gives us the ability to move, to communicate, to love, and of course, to live. When we are not careful with our bodies we can injure them, damage them, or misuse them. One of the things many people do that is unintentional, and yet still real, is we ignore health until we are older. We stay up late, drink, smoke, eat greasy foods, neglect exercise, and avoid vegetable until our bodies start failing, and then we try to take a crash course on health, and we do not understand why our body is not responding to our sudden healthy lifestyle.
Let's take a look at a few of the biggest reasons why we should become health conscious at a young age.

The first reason you should be health conscious at a young age is that your body will last longer. Disease does not just happen over night, usually it is something that occurs over time because of long term neglect or misuse of our bodies. You could compare our bodies to a car. If you buy a car new, and neglect it, then when things start going wrong, try to take care of it, how long will it last you? Sure you might get it fixed, and get a tune up and oil change, but has you started taking care of it right away, put in the right fuel, got regular oil changes and tune ups, the car would last you longer. The same holds true for our bodies. It is great to start giving it the right fuel, and clean it out regularly, etc. But if we do that from day one, your body is going to last you a lot longer. So, the sooner you become health conscious the better.
Second, it allows you to establish habits that are good. When you are young, active, and more vibrant, you might feel invincible. Your body looks great and feels great even if you are eating pizza and French fries as your main meals. What you have to realize is that what you do now, established patterns, trends, and habits for what you do in the future. If you become health conscious from a young age, then you will not have to change your whole lifestyle when you get older. This is very hard to do, and many fail, or never even try.
Third, if you think health now, you will have fewer problems as an adult. Look at some diseases like osteoporosis. It is not like you wake up one morning and your bones are suddenly much thinner than the day before. It is a gradual problem that occurs over time due to a lack of the right nutrients. So, if you want to have fewer problems, especially those that come from long time neglect of our most valuable asset, then start thinking about those now.
Last, but not least, you will stay young longer. Age is a relative term. There are 70 year olds more active and able than 30 year olds, and vice versa. If you want to be young, you have to start establishing habits of health while you are young. It is these habits that will help you stay young, help you keep energy, and vibrancy for life. So, start exercising when you are young. Start eating right. Start getting enough sleep. And continue doing these things as you get older year by year, and guess what? You will feel young, even if you are getting older in years.
