Men and women may be equal when it comes to rights, but when it comes to health, what is best for a man is not always best for a woman. The following are some great tips for women's health that deal with specific issues women face.

Tip 1: Breast cancer.

The biggest health tip when it comes to breast cancer is to do self examinations monthly, and get a professional exam yearly to help ensure you do not have breast cancer, and if you do that you catch it early enough to do something about it. Talk to your doctor about how to properly do a self exam. In addition to doing everything you can to catch breast cancer early, it is also wise to do all in your power to avoid getting breast cancer. Eating properly, exercising regularly, and maintaining good health are all steps toward avoiding breast cancer.

Tip 2: Cervical cancer.

This is again a problem of health that is specific to women. Like many other cancers, the exact cause is not determined, but women who lead healthier lifestyles are less likely to get cervical cancer. The tip for this specific health issue is to take a multivitamin to ensure your body is getting the things it needs in order to function properly. Also, get a yearly exam and pap smear so that you can catch any problems early.

Tip 3: Menopause.

If you want to better deal with women's health during menopause, it is important that you understand the body's changes during these phases of life. The more you understand the easier the transition will be, in addition to that, the healthier you will be because you will know what it is you need to do to safeguard your health during your later years. For example, to control hot flashes wear lightweight PJ's, take a warm bath before bed, and keep your room cool.

Tip 4: Weight

Many women suffer from weight fluctuation, far more than men do because of their hormones, and because of things like pregnancy, etc. If you want to get to a healthy and stable weight, be sure to eat regularly, and well balanced meals. Most everyone knows this, but women tend to have greater difficulty with blood sugar control and hormonal balance if they miss meals then men do. So, start out with a balanced breakfast and be sure to keep healthy snacks on hand, and eat small, frequent meals. In addition to eating at the right times, be sure to eat the right foods. If you want to avoid adding to your hips or waistline, consider low fat options, plenty of fresh foods, especially fruits and vegetables, and try to limit the sugars and fats you intake to less than 5% of your daily caloric intake. In order to do this you will want to keep healthy snack options on hand, as this is where most sugars and fats come from, and try to cut back on the amount of toppings and add-ons you put on potatoes, salads, etc. Fatty dressings can really make it hard to lose weight, even if all you eat is salad.

Tip five: Overall health

If you want good overall health it is important that you keep your stress levels low, and your sleep levels high. Women, more than most, tend to let things get them stressed out. Just remember, there is always another thing to be done, and so instead of letting yourself get overwhelmed and stressed out, enjoy and embrace womanhood. Go to bed early and on time, rest during the day when needed, and find stress relievers that work for you, whether that is exercise, a smutty romance novel, or a soak in the tub.
