Growing a garden is an accomplishment and something many want to do, and yet it is difficult to do so when you have limited space if you do not know the best plants for that area. The best plants to grow in limited space are as follows:

Compact Varieties: Basically if you are going to grow food in a small space, you probably want to grow something small. For example, do not try and grow corn and pumpkins, instead try things that the words patio, pixie, tiny, baby or dwarf in their name. The plant is bred to be small so that you can grow it in a small space, but this doesn't mean the fruits will be small or the yield will be less. Each year seed companies come out with more and more seeds that are smaller and will produce vegetable and fruits in smaller spaces. So, look for new things each year. Also, be on the look out for key words like: bush, compact, and space saver.

Plants that say they can grow in your space. If you are not sure what to grow, just read the packing. Most seeds and seedlings will tell you the mature size of the plants you are selecting. This means you can select plants to grow in limited space that will work.
