How to Measure for Carpet

carpeting65281444.jpgMeasuring and installing carpet isn't an exact science. No two installers will measure your home the same, which is why you'll get three different estimates from three different installers. You can save yourself time and money and make sure someone isn't ripping you off (as many installers will do) by taking measurements and getting a rough estimate yourself for your carpeting project before you call in the professionals. This will also help you estimate the cost of your carpet before you sign on the dotted line.

carpet65281572.jpg

If you have a dog or a cat, you no doubt have had to clean up urine or feces at least once. The smell of urine will probably remain in your carpet until you rent a professional carpet scrubber and go to town on the carpets. For $19.99 you can rent a Rug Doctor for 24 hours and you can spend time getting all the stains out of your carpet and removing all the other bacteria that lives in there.

Anyone that has a busy home knows that the carpet is going to get dirty no matter what you do. High-traffic areas are prone to mud and dirt and a good scrub of the carpet is really the only way you are going to get it out.

Individuals that live in a home where the white carpet turns brown need to have monthly carpet scrubbing.

Individuals with fairly clean homes are fine with once a year carpet scrubbing. Here is a quick guide to help you figure out which type of carpet scrubbing service you need:

Getting pet hair out of carpet

carpet65281572.jpg
Pets are great to have around the house but they do tend to make a mess. I love having a dog or a cat living with us. They always share their love with everyone and they provide beauty and companionship. My children love to curl up with both our dog and cat-they feel safe and loved with them. Because our pets do so much for us we like to do nice things for them. A special treat now and then seems to make them so happy. However, recently we have had some problems with pet hair in our carpet and furniture. Don't get me wrong-we love our animals-but they seem to be constantly shedding. Whenever anyone with alergies comes to the house they start sneezing and coughing. I have tried to vacuum the hair out of the carpet but this only seems to get the hair on the very top. I know that there are layers of hair pushed deep down into the carpet that should be removed. A friend told me about some techniques for pet hair removal that have really made a huge difference in our lives. Described below are just a few of the methods that she uses to get both cat and dog hair out of her carpet.
