Eliminating smells in home gyms. Home gyms are often times one of the smelliest rooms in your home. The sweet and rubber smells do not tend to leave a great smell in the air. So what can you do to remove these smells, and keep them from coming back? Here are some tips you can use to create a better smelling home gym.
1. Air home gym area out regularly. This is going to be one of the most important things you can do for your home gym. You will not necessarily want your gym equipment to get cold. So it does not need to be for long period of times in the winter especially. But, regularly open the windows and open the doors to let the fresh air come in and free up the smells.
2. Keeping the gym free of dirt and garbage will also help to remove unwanted smells in the gym. If there is a garbage can in the home gym, empty it often. Also, using some of the garbage bags that have built in scents will help freshen the smells.

3. Wiping off your gym equipment with an antibacterial spays and cloth is also a great way to minimize the smells in the home gym. When the rubber on the equipment gets sweat and dirt on them, they will tend to start smelling.
4. A good air purifier is a good idea for a home gym. The purifier will help to remove the dust in the air, and the smells surrounding the gym equipment. Maintain fresh filters in the air purifier to make sure it works appropriately.
5. Vacuuming your carpet in the home gym area regularly will also help a great deal in eliminating smells. You can use a freshener powder on your carpets, or use a small freshener pack in the vacuum itself. This will help to create a fresh smell, in addition to the cleaner smell.
6. Deep clean home gym area regularly. This is important because deep down dirt can end up causing smells that offend the nose. Since you tend to breath harder when working out, who wants to breath in the bad smells? By deep cleaning, this means to move the equipment out if possible and clean around, behind and on the equipment thoroughly. Good wall washing will also help to keep a fresh smell in the home gym. The best type of cleaner for the walls is a good lemon smelling disinfectant. That way the walls are not only clean, but keep the room smelling fresher.
7. You can use air freshener that hang from walls, or plug into outlets. You can also use the standard air freshener sprays. However, using a good smelling dryer sheet that you like will also do the trick. They smell great, and can be tucked back and away from site. It will surprise yourself and your guests at how great the home gym will smell overall.
8. Keep pets, and foods out of the home gym area. Spills, and pet hair can get down into the small areas of gym equipment and then increase poor smells in the home gym area. This may not be the easiest thing to do. However, it you do have those things in the home gym area, you will need to plan for a higher level of deep cleaning your equipment to prevent smells from occurring.
These are some great and simple ways to keep you home gym from smelling badly. Eliminating smells in home gyms really is not that difficult, however it is something that needs to be consistent.
