Five minute home facelifts
Sometimes your home just doesn't look so great, and you have no time to clean up before company arrives, or your dinner guest knocks. Sometimes you just want the peace of mind that comes from a relatively clean house. The following are a few suggestions for a five minute home facelift. Doing these simple things can really improve the appearance of your home, without taking too much of your time.

Vacuum: Even if you have to shove all of the things from the room into a corner in order to get to the floor, having a well vacuumed floor makes a world of difference in how a home looks and feels. If you want to give your home an instant, and high impact facelift, running the vacuum is a good place to start. Nice even and straight lines on the floor give it the appearance of care. So, if you don't have time to put things away, get them out of the way and vacuum.
Get rid of odors: A home with a bad smell is going to appear worse than it is. Give your home a whole new look and feel simply by freshening the air. It should only take a few moments to find the source of the bad smell (usually a trash can, or overlooked item), and then eliminate it (such as take the garbage out). Then, open a few windows, and spray some deodorizer, and your room will have a whole new feel to it.
Dust: No matter how well organized, or picked up a room is, if it has a layer of dust, it will not look clean. So, if you want to give your home a nice new facelift, in a short period of time, buy a good duster. Some vacuums come with dusters that are ionized by the vacuum, so they attract dust particles more readily. This is great, but if you don't have that, a basic duster, damp cloth, etc, will also do the trick. A quick dust of a room freshens it, and gives it the feeling of activity and life, a big plus for any room in your house, and it takes almost no time at all.
Wash counter tops: A big thing you can do to make a space look cleaner, without spending too much time, is wipe down the surfaces. If you have a ton of dishes, stack them in and by the sink, and wash your counters off, and it will look far cleaner than it is. So, give your home a facelift by spending a minute or so washing off your table, your counter, and any other surfaces that could use a little attention.
Keep these simple, fast tasks in mind for any time you need a quick home facelift.
