Indian corn is a great source for you to use as part of any decorations you create. Indian corn is small and can be used for a variety of projects. Use the Indian corn as part of a wreath. Put the stalks on the outside of the wreath and tie together with tie wire or string. Create a circle of Indian corn that you can place on your door as a centerpiece on a table. Also use Indian corn around candles to add a Thanksgiving look. Glue the Indian corn to the candle of your choice; add a piece of string around the Indian corn to give it an authentic look.
Candles can be used throughout the year. To add the Thanksgiving touch to your candles, place the small votive candles that you own into a vase. Before you place the votive candle into the vase, add acorns to the bottom of the vase. Fill each vase with a different amount of acorns to add variation and size to the candles. To add a new color with the acorn, use corn kernels in the vases also. This will give you more colors to use and chose from. Use the basic fall colors when you purchase the candles you want to use. Browns, oranges and yellows are a great source of color to use to make your table or entry pop with Thanksgiving colors.
Pumpkins are a common factor that is included in Thanksgiving. Besides enjoying that delicious pumpkin pie that you made, use pumpkins throughout your home and outside of your home to decorate. Use small gourds to add as centerpieces to your Thanksgiving dinner or in your entry way. With a gourd that is a little larger, use a fine tip marker and right the names of your guests onto it. Place the gourd at their place setting. This will help keep the flow of your guests arriving and know where they can eat. Allow your guests to take the gourd home with them as a parting gift.
Instead of using candles in your candle stick holders, place a small gourd on top of the candle stick holder. This will give you an extra element of the holiday. Place different size gourds and candle sticks throughout your home to add the small features of the holiday. If you have candle holders made out of either plastic or metal, also use these to place gourds into. Hollow out the gourd and place a small candle on the inside of the gourd. Place these candle holders and gourds along your walkway to create an illuminated pathway for your guests to follow after the wonderful Thanksgiving dinner you prepare.
For the napkins that you are going to place alongside of each place setting, tie a leaf onto the napkin with a small string or ribbon. This will give each napkin a piece of fall flare that your guests will be able to enjoy. Depending on where you live, you will be able to find a range of colors and sizes that you can use for each place setting. The more color, the more alive your table settings will become.
