Fun holiday crafts using paper
Your children are out of school during the holiday months. Finding your kids bored you will also find your home torn apart and your kids in the need of doing something. Don't allow your children to sit in front of the television during the holiday months watching television and playing video games, have them create something creative out of paper and out of their own mind.

Start by allowing your children to come up with the paper craft ideas. Ask them to list the crafts they want to create. You can have them associate the craft for a certain holiday, such as Christmas or Halloween. When your children get to use their own mind to create the craft, they will feel more accomplished in what they have completed and made.
New years is the one and only holiday and night that kids get to stay up late and enjoy the festivities with everyone else. Have your children create a paper craft that they can use to celebrate when the ball drop in Times Square or when the rest of the neighborhood is out banging pots and pans. A quick and simple craft they can make with your assistance is a paper noise maker. All you need is office paper, tape and scissors. Roll the office paper into a small narrow tube. Start in one corner and roll your way to the other corner; us a pencil or a pen to help create a perfect sphere. Secure the office paper together with a piece of tape. Pinch the end of the tube and with the scissor, snip the paper two thirds of the way across to make a triangle. This will create a flap that will make the noise. At the other end of the office paper, place your lips around the hole and blow into the hole; the flap you created will make a noise as the air passes through. Your child has successfully made a paper noise maker they can use when the clock strikes twelve.
Creating paper crafts during the winter months, will not only keep your children busy while out of school, but it will keep their creative juices flowing. During the cold months when it snows, have your children use office paper to create snowflakes that you can use as decoration. These snowflakes can be placed on your windows, walls and as centerpieces on your coffee table or dining room table.
To create a unique variety of snowflakes, use office paper, scissors, a hole punch and tape. Fold the office paper into a paper fan lengthwise and staple in the middle. Use the scissors and the hole punch to add different texture onto the paper. When you are done adding a variety of holes and cuts, open the office paper up. You have a perfect snowflake that is different from everyone else's snowflake. Creating these snowflakes will take a small amount of time and will create a limited amount of debris that will need to be cleaned up. To add extra color to the snowflakes, have your children color the paper or draw a design onto the office paper before they begin folding and cutting.
If your child does not attend a year round school and has a full summer to play and get into mischief, you need to have a paper craft they can create. Since the sun is shining, have your child complete their paper craft outdoors. Start by collecting cardstock and water paints. Have your child sit on the patio or on the grass and paint away. Use small amounts of water to create a work of art into an inspirational work of art. Allow your children to use a creative part of their mind.
