Many people keep a junk drawer or something similar in their kitchen. This junk drawer always seems to be filled with a variety of things that nobody uses, go through it and throw stuff out. The same thing holds true for other drawers and cabinets, open them up and throw out anything that you no longer using. Food pantries and fridges are also places that get clutter with old food go through both of these, and get rid of anything that has expired.

Your closets are another spot that are filled with stuff that you do not use. What you need to do is go through each closet in your house, and get rid of any clothes that no longer fit you or that you no longer wear. You should also go through your coat closet and remove old coats or worn out coats. Shoes are something else that needs to be purged to help gets rid of clutter. A good rule of thumb is to get rid of anything that you have not worn in the last three years.

If you have kids, their rooms are probably filled to the brim with stuff. You will want to go through their room or their toy room and get rid of toys, games, and other things those they no longer use. You need to get rid of the toys that they no longer play with, especially the ones that have gotten too old for. When going through your child's rooms make sure that they are not at home, this is so that they cannot try to convince you to keep toys that they haven't used for a year or better.

Bathrooms are another spot that seem to collect clutter. You need to go through the bathroom, and get rid of any medications that are no longer being used, especially the expired ones. Vanity cabinets also seem to collect a lot of junk, old makeup that you have replaced or old bottle of lotions. Go through every nook and cranny in your bathroom, get rid of anything that is no longer being used or that is old and hardened.

The last thing that you can do to help get rid of clutter in your home is to go through every room in your house and get rid of stuff that you are no longer using. For example, old magazines that line the coffee table can be tossed.
