Recently I spilled some grape juice on our new rug and could not get it out for the life of me. There might be some stains that we simply cannot get out because that is the nature of the universe. However, there are some stains that you can get out with a little know how. It is too bad that lots of people lack a little bit of know how that could easily help them to get out of a cleaning jam. One of the situations that many of us allow to go by without employing some easy method to fix it is cleaning hard water spots. Most of us assume that this is too difficult to do because these spots are the result of minerals. It is also difficult because hard water stains are quite difficult to get off. In fact, it could be impossible to get off the hard water stain with a regular cleaning agent. If you don't have any vinegar some lemon juice will do for the particular techniques described below. For showerheads you will need to take the showerhead off and put into a large pot of water. Put equal amounts of water and white vineager in the pot and boil them until you get a good heavy boil going. Cook the showerhead in the boiling water for about fifteen to twenty minutes. Once this is done you should allow the showerhead to soak in the tub for at least a few hours. Assuming that the showehead is now clean you can put it back up and it should be as good as new. If you do not have a showerhead that can be removed you should put the same mixutre of white vineager and water in a bag and fasten it to the showehead. Then allow it to sit overnight or until clean.
For things like tubs, toilets, or sinks, you will need to fill them with water and then add different amounts of vineager. Most people say to add about a liter of vineager to a tub, a cup for a toilet, and I have heard that a cup will also work for most sinks. Allow the mixture to sit and soak overnight. When this is finished you will naturally want to drain the water and vinegar and then rinse out the basin, tub, or sink.
Another thing that can be cleaned are cookware and other dishes. You might be especially upset when a favorite dish or a tea pot has a stain on it. If you have lime scale on a metal or glass dish you can soak it in a solution of vinegar and water. These sorts of things should only be soaked for so long. For example, glasses and bowls should only be soaked for about fifteen minutes.
Using these techniques and with only the household items of vinegar and water you can remove just about all the hard water stains you have. So go to work on those stains today and good luck with all your cleaning!
