How to care for your bathroom

It is important to note that you should absolutely never mix an acid descaler with bleach, this can have a very dangerous reaction. So, just make sure that you do not ever mix them.

Keep your floor sanitized. Your toilet can spittle on your floor in a sense, so the floor around your toilet is especially important to clean. It is also important to clean all hair and dust off the floor as this feeds mold and invites pests. So, clean your floor in your bathroom at least once a week, preferably more often. You will also want to make sure you do not put a rubber backed bath mat on the floor if it is at all damp. This can cause it to mold.

Use a good cleaner for your sink, and do this weekly. You spit in your sink, some people blow their nose in their sink, and basically it can harbor a whole lot of bacteria if you do not clean it often. The same goes for the area around the sink. Use a good detergent or cleaner such as AJAX.

The shower. Use the same descaler that is mentioned above for the toilet to clean your shower. Or, use something made specifically for the shower. It is important that besides cleaning your shower, each time you use it, you should use a squeegee to remove water. This way you do not have hard water build up or mold growth from damp shower walls. You will also want to shut your shower curtain after use so that it can dry and so that mold does not grow on the moisture.

Run your ventilator. When you shower, you need to turn on the bathroom fan. Then leave it running for at least thirty minutes after your shower. This will help to prevent mold and mildew from growing in your bathroom. It will keep your paint fresher, and it will make your bathroom smell better.

It is important that you clean your bathroom each week. Sanitize your garbage can, as it can make your bathroom really stink if you are not careful. Also, clean up after yourself. If you drip toothpaste on the ground, wipe it up right away. Once it hardens it is a lot harder to get cleaned up.

Regularly replace your shower curtain so that mold does not grow on it.
